Comcast Fan

Gui / Interface Design
Interaction Design
Information Architecture

When Comcast was ready to take their Fan video player to the next level, they had two overarching goals in mind; a. To increase ad sales through a better ad system, b. To expose the full breadth of content of their immense catalog of videos. The task was not simple since they wanted to keep their iconic shape (the circle) that has made it so popular.

Prototyping and design were done rather quickly so within a few days, I had a designed interface ready to be examined by an information architect. I worked closely with one providing my own suggestions for usability. Having designed the previous version it was not difficult to know what were the pitfalls of such an application.

Interaction/Ads

In the end, it is all about monetization. For this product to be truly successful, we had to deliver a solid advertisement model around The Fan. These graphics illustrate how advertisement works in a nutshell, plus the interaction design for this Flex application.
